We are seeking a passionate and creative Junior Development Chef to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will collaborate with our Development Chef Team to design innovative and seasonal menu propositions tailored for our diverse clientele. You'll thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment where creativity and process are key to delivering exceptional culinary experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Recipe Development: Assist in creating new recipes and menu items, ensuring they can be produced consistently at medium to large-scale volumes while adhering to production and regeneration standards.
Ingredient Sourcing: Work closely with local suppliers to source fresh, high-quality ingredients, optimising ingredient use for cost efficiency and minimal waste.
Trend Monitoring: Stay updated on culinary trends and customer preferences, adapting recipes accordingly to meet market demands.
Collaboration: Support cross-functional teams, including Production, Procurement, and Technical, to ensure seamless transitions from concept to launch, addressing any process improvements or challenges that arise.
Quality Assurance: support in conducting shelf-life testing and maintaining high standards in the NPD kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Documentation: Assist with the creation and maintenance of detailed recipe documentation, costings, and process guidelines to support ongoing product development.
Housekeeping: Participate in day-to-day kitchen operations, including ingredient collection and maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the workspace.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality, ideally in a development role.
- Strong culinary skills with a passion for food innovation and creativity.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members.
- Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food costing and ingredient management.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
