About the Organisation
This therapeutic DDP-led company is a brand-new not-for-profit with a vision to become a DDP-accredited charity as they grow. Led by a group of senior managers within the residential child‑care industry with a combined 65+ years of experience, including ex‑Outstanding Registered Managers, respected consultants and an ex‑Ofsted Inspector, this would be a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Registered Manager looking to step away from commercialised care.
This home is a beautiful, newly purpose‑built property, recently registered as a 4 Bedded EBD home in Redditch. The team, currently large enough to care for two young people, includes an office‑based Deputy Manager who supports day‑to‑day operations. You will have the support of a consultant psychologist, a dedicated Head Office, and access to Sue Solutions digital reporting and recording software. You and your staff will be enrolled onto qualifications in DDP to become accredited, and your staff will be rewarded with bonuses for good performance.

* Basic Salary: Up to £60k p.a., depending on experience and qualifications

What the Role Entails
* Run a children’s home to ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ standards, adhering to Ofsted’s Children’s Home Act (2015), Quality Standards, and Safeguarding Procedures
* Manage a staff team, complete supervisions and appraisals, and ensure training is completed in line with Quality Standards
* Develop and review Ofsted‑required paperwork such as care plans, behaviour support plans, risk assessments, and regulated “Reg” reports, and attend and engage in LAC, EHCP, PEP and Pathway Planning meetings and reviews
* Communicate effectively with young people, colleagues, families and external professionals
* Conduct administrative tasks such as health and safety checks, medication audits, rotas, finances, and take part in recruitment activities and inductions
* Hold on‑call responsibilities; ensure the home has your expert advice in out‑of‑hour crises
Requirements
* Minimum of 2+ years’ experience leading a team specifically within a children’s home environment
* Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
* Full UK Manual Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
* Understanding of the SCCIF, Children’s Home Act (2015), and Quality Standards, the ability to register as a manager with Ofsted, and to pass a Fit Person’s Interview
* A genuine passion for supporting the well‑being and healthy development of young people, as well as for your staff team
