My Client is recruiting for a Senior Electrical Engineer in the Water Sector

The Role
We are seeking to recruit an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to work as part of a highly motivated and successful team in one of our UK offices.
The role will involve providing technical accountability on various appraisal and detailed design projects. With a background in electrical engineering, you will primarily work on a range of design and construction projects within sectors including flood risk management, infrastructure, and environmental asset management.
These projects impact local communities and the environment, serving public and private sector clients such as regulators, local authorities, water utilities, and construction companies. Responsibilities include options appraisal, concept design, detailed scheme design, and construction. The candidate is expected to mentor junior staff and contribute to bid and tender processes.
You will join an established environmental and engineering consultancy that prioritizes sustainability and climate resilience. With offices worldwide and across the UK and Ireland, we aim to make a meaningful difference.
Your role
Main duties include:
1. Leading all project phases from scoping and detailed design to implementation, ensuring compliance with client specifications and regulatory standards, with a focus on low-carbon solutions.
2. Developing EICA design deliverables to meet client needs.
3. Preparing EICA specifications, schedules, and drawings.
4. Coordinating with other design disciplines and stakeholders.
5. Providing technical guidance on EICA matters to the project team.
6. Managing and developing assigned EICA staff.
7. Building relationships with clients and colleagues.
Experience and Qualifications
* A degree (or equivalent) in electrical engineering is essential. The candidate should be a Chartered or Incorporated member of the IET, preferably with consultancy experience.
* Experience in detailed design and specification of industrial electrical installations, including lighting, power distribution, switchgear, control systems, and ancillary services.
* Proficiency in design software such as Amtech/Trimble ProDesign, Dialight, Revit, etc.
* Knowledge of BS7671:2018 and current standards.
* Experience with Safety in Design and CDM responsibilities is desirable.
* Knowledge of pumping stations and water infrastructure is preferred.
* A full UK driving license and willingness to travel nationwide, including occasional overnight stays.
