We pride ourselves on our track record of providing innovative and sustainable ground engineering solutions, focused on delivering the best construction design advice that enhances and protects the environment while supporting daily life.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Geoenvironmental Engineer, Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer, or Engineering Geologist with an environmental focus to work on some of the most exciting construction projects in the UK and worldwide. You will collaborate with colleagues across our multidisciplinary practice, particularly with our Civil Structural and Critical Systems teams, providing specialist consultancy across sectors including Education, Healthcare, Critical Systems, Industrial, Residential, Workplace, and Retail.
Your responsibilities will include detailed geoenvironmental analysis, leading site investigations and risk assessments (such as Phase I and II land quality risk assessments and environmental due diligence), as well as undertaking remediation design and verification.
The Skills
You should possess a BSc degree (or equivalent) in geology, engineering geology, earth sciences, geochemistry, or environmental science, with at least 5 years of professional experience in engineering geology and geoenvironmental engineering. Your experience should include Phase I and II assessments, waste classification, remediation strategies, supervision, and verification. Experience with DQRA for Human Health, Controlled Waters, and Ground Gas & Vapour is also required, along with extensive site investigation experience for various schemes, including complex urban environments and masterplanning. Ideally, you will be chartered or working towards chartership with a relevant industry body.
You should demonstrate a broad understanding of engineering geology and contaminated land issues, with working knowledge of standards such as BS 5930/Eurocode 7, BS10175, CIRIA 552, 665, 733 & 758, BS8485, BRE-SD1, LCRM, and WM3. The ability to produce detailed and robust ground models and conceptual site models is essential. Experience with Tier 1 and Tier 2 contaminated land risk assessments is also necessary.
Leadership skills are important, including the ability to manage and develop junior team members and collaborate effectively with senior ground engineering staff and other disciplines. Basic geotechnical knowledge and an MSc qualification would be advantageous.
Given the collaborative and client-focused nature of this role, excellent communication skills, initiative, and negotiation abilities are essential.
We value diversity and inclusion and encourage applications from all backgrounds. We are committed to creating an environment where everyone can thrive and do their best work.
