Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager (Subsea), the Accountant will provide operational support across the finance function within a dynamic and fast‑evolving business environment. This newly created role will support the continued development of financial processes and scalable frameworks as the organisation grows internationally. The position offers broad exposure across multiple areas of finance and will suit someone who enjoys variety, working with data, and operating within a highly collaborative environment. The successful candidate will work closely with Finance Managers and operational stakeholders to support day‑to‑day accounting activities, improve workflows, and ensure the integrity of financial information.
Key duties
* Support accurate entry and processing of financial data within the accounting system.
* Process multi‑currency accounts payable and receivable transactions.
* Prepare journals, accruals, and prepayments to support month‑end activities.
* Support global project invoicing and intercompany recharge processes.
* Prepare payroll allocations and payroll journals.
* Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations across multiple currency accounts.
* Assist with VAT returns, statutory filings, and audit preparation.
* Support the maintenance of the fixed asset register.
* Collaborate with Finance Managers to improve and streamline financial workflows and processes.
Qualifications
This role is ideally suited to an experienced accountant with previous experience in a similar accounting role, preferably within a multi‑entity, international, engineering, or project‑based environment. Candidates from practice seeking a progressive first move into industry are also welcomed. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical capability, excellent attention to detail, confidence working with large datasets and financial systems, and strong Excel skills. A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset and the ability to communicate effectively with finance and non‑finance stakeholders is essential.
