Behind every great food range is a Buyer making smart commercial calls, building strong supplier partnerships and moving fast in a constantly changing market. We’re creating a pipeline of Buyers to join our Food teams across Ambient, Fresh and Hospitality as opportunities arise.
This role is ideal for commercially curious, confident decision‑makers who enjoy variety, pace and ownership. You’ll play a hands‑on role in shaping ranges customers trust, while delivering results that matter to the business.
What you’ll do
Your key accountabilities will include:
1. Delivering sales, profit and cash performance in line with budget and category plans
2. Building strong supplier partnerships to secure quality, availability and commercial advantage
3. Developing and delivering category strategies using customer, market and performance insight
4. Leading end‑to‑end commercial decisions including costing, negotiations and risk management
5. Working cross‑functionally to land ranges effectively, compliantly and on time
Who you are
Your skills and experience will include:
6. Buying or commercial experience within food, retail or hospitality
7. Strong commercial judgement with the ability to interpret data and insight
8. Clear communication and influencing skills with internal teams and suppliers
9. The ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast‑moving environment
10. A collaborative approach, curiosity and a drive to improve performance
