Job Description
We’re now looking for a Credit Controller to join our Finance team and help drive cash flow performance by building strong customer relationships and ensuring timely payments.
This is a key role for a confident, organised, and proactive individual with a knack for communication and a drive to resolve issues efficiently. You’ll be instrumental in managing commercial debt, supporting key accounts, and helping us maintain financial stability to fuel future growth.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Proactively contact customers by phone and email to ensure invoices are cleared for payment.
* Collect and manage commercial debt across a portfolio of key customer accounts.
* Act as a point of contact for complex or escalated queries from other team members.
* Process invoices, payments, credit notes, and all related customer account transactions in line with financial deadlines.
* Take ownership of root cause analysis on invoice disputes and collaborate with internal teams to implement solutions.
* Assess accounts for potential debt collection or legal action, escalating where appropriate to the Credit Control Manager.
* Flag potential risks of payment defaults to the Credit Control Manager.
* Deputise for the Credit Control Manager in their absence.
* Support with ad-hoc duties and finance projects as required.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
* Previous experience in credit control, particularly in a commercial or B2B environment.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence in speaking to clients over the phone.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Proficiency in managing accounts, reconciliations, and financial systems.
* A solutions-focused mindset with the ability to handle challenging conversations professionally.
* A team player who can also work independently and manage their workload effectively.
