About the role
Leading a team to achieve the contractual performance requirements of the Apprenticeship Contract, making sure we offer exceptional customer service to all our participants. Continuously driving learner experience to drive the business forward. Working in partnership with the management team to deliver a seamless approach between performance and quality.
Responsibilities
* Manage a team of assessors to ensure contractual compliance in learner achievement.
* Plan and manage starts, leavers, occupancy and achievers to meet team targets.
* Collaborate with IQAs to review occupancy data, ensuring accuracy, compliance and data integrity using the Itec reporting system.
* Drive performance in conjunction with the senior management team.
* Account for contractual compliance through quality measures and auditable processes.
* Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the assessor team in partnership with IQAs.
* Maintain an effective team calendar and caseload management, providing updates and feedback on performance to the Head of Apprenticeships.
* Conduct monthly one‑to‑one reviews with assessors to maximise performance, compliance and training requirements; develop action plans for under‑performance.
* Engage with employers, ensuring consistent professional communication and collaborate with the Business Development Team to support retention and repeat business.
* Handle and, when necessary, escalate learner/employer complaints in line with internal policy.
* Champion equality, diversity, inclusion and wellbeing by embedding inclusive practice, overseeing ALN compliance, and fostering a positive culture that promotes staff wellbeing.
* Partner with the Quality team to implement all quality improvements such as the Estyn framework and Welsh action plan.
* Lead and implement appropriate and effective changes.
* Analyse management information and produce reports.
* Apply all HR policies, procedures and practices effectively.
* Maintain knowledge and adherence to Work‑Based Learning Professional Standards, the Education Workforce Code of Practice and the company’s Code of Conduct.
Essential Qualifications
* Previous management experience.
* Experience of managing multi‑disciplinary teams.
* Full driving licence with use of own vehicle.
* Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to manage resources effectively.
* Safeguarding knowledge and understanding.
* Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
* Team‑working skills.
* Proven track record of delivering results.
* IT literacy.
* Willingness to undergo a DBS check (cost covered by the company) and EWC registration.
Desirable Qualifications
* Work‑Based Learning experience.
* Management or team‑leading qualification.
* Safeguarding experience.
* Knowledge of public funded training schemes.
