The Head of Offshore will be responsible for all resourcing, training, team development, all project and technical aspects of offshore and HVDC Interconnector projects, ensuring that all engineering and technical requirements are met. This role requires an appreciation of AC, HVDC plant and equipment, subsea cable systems design and installation, balance of plant including fixed and floating technology, emerging technology, strong leadership skills, the ability to manage technical team and complex projects together with the management of technical budgets, schedule, and resources effectively. A little more about your role: Leading proposals for new work and business development discussions Lead the technical execution of Offshore and HVDC Interconnector projects. Take a leadership engineering role on strategically important projects Fulfilling Project Director role to ensure the safe, efficient and quality delivery of projects and frameworks. Develop and implement technical strategies, standards, and processes to streamline efficient delivery execution. Oversee the design, engineering, and technical aspects of project development. Ensure compliance with all relevant technical regulations, standards, and best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, project management, and environmental teams. Conduct technical risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies. Provide technical guidance and support to project teams and contribute to the development of a technical competence. Stay updated on the latest advancements in offshore cable technology and incorporate innovative solutions into projects. Represent the company in technical discussions with stakeholders, including clients, regulatory bodies, and industry partners. Manage technical budgets, schedules, and resources effectively. What we will be looking for you to demonstrate: Extensive experience in offshore energy systems, including AC and HVDC transmission, subsea cable design and installation, and balance of plant (fixed and floating) Proven leadership in delivering complex, multidisciplinary energy projects, ideally within a consultancy or client-side environment Strong commercial acumen, with a track record of leading successful bids, securing new business, and building long-term client relationships Deep understanding of technical regulations, industry standards, and best practices across offshore and HVDC infrastructure Experience managing large technical teams, with a focus on mentoring, training, and developing high-performing talent Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to represent the business at senior levels across clients, regulators, and industry forums Demonstrated ability to develop and implement technical strategies, driving innovation, efficiency, and quality across project delivery Strong project and resource management skills, including oversight of budgets, schedules, and risk portfolios Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent) with a relevant institution such as the IET or ICE is highly desirable Don’t quite meet all the criteria?
