Job Role: Head of Health, Safety & Quality Location: Oldbury, West Midlands ERIKS are recruiting for a Head of Health, Safety & Quality to join our Senior Operations team. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this is a critical and challenging, yet rewarding role that will have a direct influence on the compliance and more importantly, safety-first culture within ERIKS. Whilst promoting sustainable practices and ensuring operational excellence, youll collaborate with cross-functional teams, senior global management, and external stakeholders to achieve our HSQ goals. You will have an enthusiasm for best practice, continuous improvements and leading change. Whilst we have procedures in place and processes available, we are looking for an individual who is passionate about collaboration and culture and able to embed behavioural Health and Safety throughout the wider business, to further advance HSQ. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and communicate a clear HSQ vision aligned with the companys mission and provide exceptional levels of support across ERIKS UK&I. - Strategic Leadership and Vision: o Develop and communicate a clear HSQ vision aligned with the companys mission. Setting strategic goals, KPIs, and performance metrics for the HSQ department. o Champion behavioural safety as a core value, emphasizing proactive risk management to embed a safety-first mindset across all levels of the organization. o Taking the lead for H&S across the business. o Creating a working environment that is genuinely committed to ensuring everyone returns home safely at the end of each day, every day - Engagement & People Development: o Create and manage an excellent working environment that provides security, consistency and reliability. o Create enjoyment, opportunity, development and learning in a safe environment for all colleagues. o Effectively mentor and develop a team of HSQ professionals, to foster growth and expertise to give confidence, capability and drive to deliver the future requirements of the business. - Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement: o Ensure ISO certifications are maintained and drive quality initiatives, and process improvements. o Establish robust quality control measures and monitor adherence. o Encourage a culture of continuous learning and innovation. o Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Manager to enhance product/service quality. - Stakeholder Engagement: o Engage with clients, suppliers, and contractors to align HSQ expectations. o Represent the company in industry forums, conferences, and regulatory meetings. - Communication: o Ensure engaging and relevant communications across the business via a variety of mechanisms. o Provide accurate and relevant management reporting to provide business insight, performance monitoring and challenge. Further details can be discussed at interview stage if required Key Skills and Competencies: Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, ISO Lead Auditor, or equivalent. Extensive experience in HSEQ leadership roles. Proven track record of leading and embedding behavioural safety and cultural change. Significant experience and strong understanding of quality management systems (ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001). Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Strong team player with a desire to support the delivery of common business goals Self-Managing and Self-Motivated takes responsibility for own deliverables Possesses a positive 'can-do' attitude Able to build relationships at all levels, liaise and influence colleagues, external contacts, and stakeholders Adapts to changing circumstances and can work productively in a high-pressure environment with multiple/changing priorities. Strong communication and inter-personal skills, including written, oral, and presentational.
