The project: Mace is engaged as consulting building surveyors across the Midlands, partnering with local government councils and higher education institutions to deliver a diverse portfolio of projects. Our current scope includes school refurbishments, new build schools, and university capital works/reactive maintenance. Through this programme, Mace provides end to end building surveying expertise - from feasibility and design stage input to technical advisory and project delivery. Coordinates teams and prepares technical reports` aligned to current standards on regional and national programmes for public and private sector clients. You’ll be responsible for: Completing building surveys for various building types for assessment, defect identification and diagnosis and project monitoring. Preparing professional reports in written form to meet the clients scopes of services. Preparing and interprets reports, specifications and contractual documents to assist with the management of construction projects. Accountable for the production of technical drawings (computer aided design) CAD. Ensuring compliance with good practice relating to health and safety and quality assurance. Applying sound technical knowledge gained through work experience to solve complex construction and project related problems. Collaborating with team/stakeholders supporting the preparation of competitive tenders and fee proposals. Partnering with regional Building Surveying team/s for portfolio/discipline. Guiding team/s to develop professional competences required by recognised professional bodies. Partnering with external and internal multi-disciplinary teams. Working collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work. You’ll need to have: Construction project management experience. Sound knowledge of construction materials and technology. Ability to identify and recommend solutions to construction defects. Proficient in specification writing and tender preparation. Understanding of contract administration. Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD for preparing specification drawings etc. You’ll also have: Undergraduate university degree - BSc (HONS) (or equivalent). Developed communication skills, manages internal and external stakeholders. Develops and maintains internal and external. stakeholder/colleague relationships.
