Housing Disrepair Solicitor Location: Whitefield, M45 Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Housing Disrepair Solicitor to join our growing litigation team. You will manage a caseload of housing disrepair claims from instruction through to settlement or trial, acting for tenants in claims against local authorities, housing associations and private landlords. The role requires strong litigation skills, excellent client care and the ability to manage cases efficiently within a CFA-funded environment. Key Responsibilities Manage a caseload of housing disrepair matters from instruction to conclusion Draft Letters of Claim in line with the Pre-Action Protocol for Housing Conditions Claims Instruct and liaise with surveyors and other experts Draft pleadings and issue proceedings where necessary Conduct litigated matters through the County Court Negotiate settlements with defendants and insurers Advise clients on CFAs and ATE insurance Ensure compliance with CPR, housing legislation and firm procedures Skills & Experience Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with a current practising certificate Ideally 2 years’ experience in housing disrepair litigation Strong knowledge of housing legislation including: Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act 2018 HHSRS and the Housing Conditions Pre-Action Protocol Experience assessing liability, quantum and prospects of success Strong negotiation, organisation and client care skills Desirable County Court advocacy experience Experience supervising junior staff Familiarity with Proclaim or similar case management systems If you are interested in this role please call Ryan at Puro Associates on 01904571760 or apply below!
