As Commercial Lead, you’ll be at the heart of our wastewater projects — managing costs, driving commercial strategy, and ensuring financial clarity from tender to final account. You’ll work closely with clients, project teams, and subcontractors to deliver projects that are commercially sound, environmentally responsible, and operationally excellent.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Leading commercial strategy across multiple wastewater projects
• Managing and administering contracts (typically NEC 4)
• Managing project budgets, forecasting, cost control, and cash flow
• Overseeing subcontractor agreements and safeguarding company risk
• Driving margin performance through cost-to-complete analysis and value engineering
• Mentoring and developing a high-performing commercial team
• Building strong relationships and managing expectations
• Supporting tender processes and challenging contract terms
What You Must Bring
Water industry experience is essential. We’re looking for someone who understands the nuances, challenges, and opportunities of delivering commercial success in water and wastewater treatment.
• 10 years’ experience in commercial project management
• Proven track record in the water/wastewater sector
• Chartered status (desired but not essential) and relevant qualifications
(Degree/HNC/HND)
• Strong understanding of and experience working with NEC 4 and other contract forms
• Excellent negotiation, leadership, and communication skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Ability to manage complex projects and lead with confidence
