Ready to make an impact? Join our technical team that covers our Mortars & Screeds business and play a vital role in keeping products compliant, optimising mix designs, and driving performance across our sites. You will travel to our various Mortars & Screeds sites from Gateshead down to Bedford, ideally you will be located close to our central lab in Halifax. You’ll be the go-to for technical queries, building strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues while working closely with operations, sales, procurement, and the Central Lab.
So what's the mission?
In this role, you’ll play a key part in keeping our products and processes compliant across the national network. You’ll get hands-on with materials trials in both the central lab and live plants, work with Procurement and suppliers to test raw materials, and drive cost savings through the F4G programme. Building strong relationships is at the heart of the role; from suppliers to Plant Managers, as you support mix design changes, prevent downtime, and help develop new products and concepts. You’ll also take the lead on technical audits, prepare for BSI and internal audits, and maintain close links with the central lab for all testing requirements. Along the way, you’ll provide expert support on site quality issues, visit customer sites when needed, and deliver reports that keep everything on track.
What are the mission-critical skills?
1. Experience in a construction, manufacturing related field
2. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
3. Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner
4. Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
5. Experience of ISO 9001 Quality Management
6. An understanding of Marshalls products is advantageous
