Are you a recent Interior Design graduate with a passion for workplace design? This is a fantastic opportunity to join our dynamic Workplace Design & Planning team within a global furniture manufacturing business.
Based from our Head Office in Burnley you will support the development of design briefs, create technical space plans and layouts, detail rooms and accessories, and produce compelling 3D visuals. You'll also attend client meetings alongside our sales Managers to help bring design concepts to life.
This role offers a structured 6–12-month training programme led by our experienced in-house interior design team – a great foundation for anyone looking to grow their career in commercial interior design.
The Role:
* Design and create accurate, detailed workplace and office space planning for a diverse range of clients, providing solutions to design problems and generate design alternatives.
* Prepare project specifications for quotation, including design concept, material selection and space planning.
* Initiate research activities in accordance to project requirements.
* Produce presentations, briefing documents and concept design packs for review, discussion and feedback.
* Collection and analyses of data and requirements collated from stakeholders and analyse this to create layout plans or briefing documents.
* Collating briefing information and directing consultants from concept design to site delivery by anticipating business requirements.
* Collaborating with internal functions on planning and implementing office occupation and moves.
* Build strong relationships with Internal departments, Sales Managers and Customers to ensure high levels of service.
* Acting as primary design interface with clients and attend client & site meetings as required.
The Person:
* Strong interest in space planning / design working on commercial projects.
* Able to develop knowledge of commercial office furniture products and interior design trends.
* Work well under pressure, manage own time to meet deadlines.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Influential personality with strong ability to build business relationships with Internal stakeholders and customers.
* Excellent communication & presentation skills.
* Proficient with AutoCAD, Sketch Up and Adobe suites (Vectorworks is a strong advantage).
* A degree in Interior Design or similar.
* Hold a current and clean driving licence as travel (company pool car) will be an occasional requirement within the role.
