About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our South Division based in our Addlestone office.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual with excellent analytical skills, able to work effectively on their own initiative and as part of a diverse team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain the general ledger and MIS database to support financial and management reporting and forecasting/budgeting processes.
* Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports, including variance analysis.
* Assist in the production of monthly Board Packs and Management Packs.
* Support the completion of statutory reporting packs and tax packs.
* Contribute to internal and external audit processes.
* Attend monthly sales and marketing cost review meetings, maintaining forecasts against budget.
* Calculate sales executive commission and bonus payments on a monthly basis.
* Review and reconcile sales and cost of sales journals for plots legally completing in the month.
* Ensure accurate and timely reporting of results, supporting the month-end close process.
* Perform robust balance sheet reconciliations with appropriate audit evidence.
* Liaise with managers to resolve bought ledger queries, including invoices awaiting approval and retrospective POs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience using accounting software would be advantageous.
* Professional qualifications; Part or Newly Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA.
* Experience in the construction industry is desirable but not essential.
* Able to learn quickly and work proactively with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Understanding of legal property/conveyancing terminology would be beneficial.
* Ability to manage increased pressure during half-year and year-end financial reporting.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication, sound accounting knowledge, time management, and prioritization.
