The Contract Manager (CM) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of contract management to ensure the delivery of first-class service to clients while controlling costs and maintaining profitability.
The Contract Manager shall ensure service delivery aligns fully with customer requirements. The role requires technical qualifications, experience in managing large, multi-disciplined maintenance services, and strong communication and organizational skills.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week, 8am to 5pm
Based: Head Office, Denton
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure contractors and service partners meet service and customer care standards consistent with HFL's values and expectations.
* Apply governance and value-for-money processes strictly for all completed works.
* Ensure engineering teams comply with statutory, client, and company policies, including QSHE procedures.
* Build client relationships and act as a point of escalation for service issues or complaints.
* Make operational decisions based on good engineering practices to ensure service continuity.
* Coordinate with site-based maintenance staff, subcontractors, and operational departments to ensure effective communication.
* Lead and ensure comprehensive handover from the Commercial Team to Operations.
* Maintain full P&L accountability for the portfolio of sites.
* Attend training to uphold safe working practices and environment.
* Promote and follow up on new business opportunities aligned with company growth plans.
* Support sales and marketing campaigns relevant to the industry.
* Drive income through organic growth to meet or exceed financial targets.
* Develop collaborative relationships with colleagues, clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
* Implement and ensure adherence to best practice processes for all works activities.
* Create performance metrics and monthly reports via CAFM system.
* Manage the Engineering Team's daily operational and maintenance duties.
* Participate in contract renewal processes, addressing issues and replacing underperforming subcontractors.
* Identify undersold contracts and collaborate with the Commercial team for solutions.
* Manage aged debt by liaising with Credit Control and resolving payment issues.
* Review quotations from the Extra Works team before client submission.
* Develop and retain talent, conducting reviews and PDRs/EPAs to foster a high-performance culture.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Over 3 years of experience in Contract Management
* Level 4 Qualification in a related field
* Exceptional ability to understand and anticipate customer needs, delivering personalized solutions
* Strong leadership and team management skills
* Analytical and problem-solving skills for customer challenges and growth opportunities
* Knowledge of industry trends and market conditions
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
* IOSH Managing Safely certification (or similar)
