Job Title: Mechanical Inspector
Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire

* Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:30
* Friday: 07:30 - 14:00
(40 hours per week)
Salary:
Up to 17.50 per hour (dependent on experience)
Reports to: Inspection Team Leader

Their core competencies include deep hole drilling, honing, forged piston manufacturing, and advanced coating technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Inspect mechanical components and assemblies using a variety of precision measuring tools
* Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
* Verify dimensional accuracy using hand-held tools, height gauges, bore gauges, and surface finish testers
* Operate or assist with the operation of CMM (ideally Mitutoyo) for inspection routines
* Record inspection results and complete associated documentation accurately
* Work to quality control standards, preferably AS9100
* Communicate effectively with the wider production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
* Advanced Apprenticeship or Higher Education Qualification in Mechanical Engineering preferred
* Previous experience in a Mechanical or Quality Inspector role within a CNC machining or precision manufacturing environment is essential
Skills & Knowledge:
* Proficient in the use of inspection tools and equipment
* Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
* Solid Microsoft Office skills (especially Word and Excel)
* Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards
* Detail-oriented with strong communication and time management abilities
