An exciting opportunity has become available for a Registered Mental Health Nurse ( RMN) to work as Deputy Team Manager in the Haringey West Core Team ( HWCT ).
The successful candidate will join a strong, experienced and committed HWCT leadership team including managers and Consultant Psychiatrists providing a dynamic and supportive environment from which to lead the team.

The successful applicant will be an experienced and enthusiastic practitioner, able to demonstrate flexibility in meeting competing demands whilst working under pressure and show commitment to lifelong learning. Experience of working in a community mental health setting is essential for this role.


Main duties of the job

* To work in partnership with the teams' senior leadership, team members and stakeholders in the delivery of an integrated service that offers active intervention for people with complex bio-psycho-social needs and to their families and carers.
* To assist in the effective delivery of the team's core functions, and key performance indicators and lead on clinical supervision within the team.
* To lead the development of protocols, procedures, and systems to integrate practice across the borough-wide service.
* To work cohesively with senior management to provide a responsive and innovative service delivering high-quality mental health service to the people of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey and provide clinical advice and support to other professions within the mental health care setting and related statutory and non-statutory agencies.
* To provide professional leadership within HWCT and support the team manager and staff in implementing evidence-based practice and promoting practice-based evidence in psycho-social interventions.
* Support, appraise and provide formal, ongoing clinical supervision and caseload management supervision to members of the team.
* To undertake duties designed to extend clinical and managerial expertise as delegated by the manager when required. This will include deputising in the absence of the HWCT Manager.

The partnership between  Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust (BEH)  and  Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I)  is going from strength to strength since it was originally established in 2021 forming the  North London Mental Health Partnership.

In order to meet the needs of the new Partnership services you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Enfield and Harringay Trust and Camden and Islington Trust. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.


Detailed job description and main responsibilities

* To ensure the delivery of high-quality needs assessments and risk assessments within a multi-disciplinary framework with service users experiencing mental health difficulties and to provide effective and supportive interventions within the framework of Dialog+ ( training provided), Strengths Based and the Recovery Model.
* To maintain clear, comprehensive and contemporaneous clinical records on all patients in accordance with professional standards and Trust policies and to write appropriate reports, maintain records and produce correspondence in accordance with the Trust policies on Case Recording and Confidentiality and Data Protection Act

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS


Essential criteria

* RMN, RNLD, SW or OT equivalent first level registration Relevant degree or post graduate diploma/equivalent level of experience


EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE


Essential criteria

* Minimum 3 years clinical experience in the community and / or hospital based services.
* Demonstrable experience at Band 6 or equivalent.
* Evidence of ability to effectively manage a community service
* Experience of delivering training to different disciplines and professions
* Experience of the Supervision process and ability to offer effective supervision to staff at different levels.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES


Essential criteria

* Ability to demonstrate in depth knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2005, Mental Capacity Act 2005, the Code of Practice, and Children's Act. National Service Framework
* Training and advanced skills in a specialised approach such as psycho-social interventions, dual diagnosis, personality disorder or assertive outreach, CBT

* Knowledge of the process necessary for effective risk assessment and management
* Ability to demonstrate a creative and flexible approach to staff managing and in delivering a high standard of care.
* Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care plans to meet needs of clients. Ability to set, monitor and evaluate standards for quality within the service
* Ability undertake evidence based interventions with people suffering from a range of mental health problems
* Knowledge of and ability to work as part of a multi-professional team as a lead clinician and role model.
* Ability to work effectively in crisis situations in order to maintain the safety of both staff and client
* Ability to teach staff and provide advice and support
