Job Title: Sous-Chef
We are seeking a Sous-Chef to create nutritious and well-balanced meals in collaboration with the Head Chef, ensuring they meet Athena standards and resident satisfaction.
Responsibilities include:
* Supporting the Head Chef in maintaining consistent food standards during all stages of production and service.
* Adhering to HACCP procedures according to Athena’s Food Safety Management documentation.
* Maintaining proper use of the company’s due diligence framework, cleaning, and opening/closing procedures.
* Supporting quality control and hygiene systems.
* Purchasing food and related products from company-nominated suppliers when required.
* Assisting in achieving food budget controls, minimizing waste, and developing menus for a balanced diet for residents.
About You
The ideal candidate will:
* Have good communication skills.
* Work well within a team.
* Be driven and proactive.
* Handle pressure effectively.
* Have good time management skills.
Your Skills
* Hold a relevant NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in catering.
* Experience in the care sector is preferred.
