Responsibility for a small portfolio of Audit clients and associated audit workflow, while supporting senior colleagues across all audit requirements, providing a high quality client service experience and ensuring adherence to individual job budgets and maximum fee recovery.
Responsibilities
* Ownership of a small client portfolio and contacts for ongoing management and development
* Collaborate with partners and colleagues in other service lines who are key stakeholders in audit clients
* Supervise Audit seniors, semi-seniors and assistants
* Support the service line’s business development activities
* Engage with government bodies and external organisations such as HMRC
What We're Looking For
Job/Workflow & Technical Management
* Ensure planning and prioritisation of all relevant client audit work within own and others’ client portfolios
* Prepare or delegate key client audit work in line with agreed budgets
* Adhere to The KR Way standards of performance, particularly The Life of an Audit, liaising with management when necessary on overly complex areas
* Proactively maximise audit efficiency
* Establish scope and budget for each piece of client audit work under own control and brief team members accordingly
* Work on complex consolidations and accounts and more complex audit areas
* Act as a key point of contact for outsourced team members
* Monitor work progress and maintain communication with clients and internal stakeholders
* Research solutions for more complex or higher risk audit issues
* Manage instances where work exceeds agreed client fees and secure a mutually acceptable outcome
* Complete administration on audit files and ensure sections, including complex technical areas, are of a standard suitable for review by a manager and an RI
* Clearance of manager and RI points
* Ensure processing completion for clients in other managers/senior managers/director portfolios
* Prepare bills for own client audit work and send to the client promptly
* Keep APS workflow up to date
Client, Internal and External Organisational Contact
* Manage, support and develop a small client portfolio, maximise client advocacy and fee levels, and maintain proactive contact at key times (e.g., timetable planning)
* Act as a key point of contact for other audit clients to maximise delivered work
* Return phone calls and written correspondence within required deadlines and keep commitments
* Attend or lead audit review and close-down meetings for own clients as required
* Proactively contact clients with items of interest or benefits to add value
* Provide access and support for other internal departments to own Audit clients to aid cross-selling of services
* Ensure client hygiene factors are in place (AML, KYC reviews, engagement letters, etc.)
Leadership, People Management and Development
* Supervise seniors, semi-seniors and assistants involved in audit work
* Ensure clear task plans and milestones for each audit piece
* Provide feedback on adherence to standards, errors, learnings and opportunities for value add
* Participate in local and regional training for new starters and junior employees as agreed with audit managers
New Business Development
* Support the Audit team in delivering the departmental incremental fee target through networking, meeting attendance, business pitches, webinars, and optional article contributions
* Develop internal Kreston Reeves connections to enable access and cross-referral opportunities for other internal departments
