Job Summary
West London NHS Trust (WLNT) is recruiting for the new post of Senior Sustainability Manager. This key role will help the Trust deliver its sustainability agenda and meet the NHS net zero targets. The Trust has aspirations to become one of the most sustainable organisations in the NHS.
WLNT has formed a strategic partnership with Central London Community Health NHS Trust (CLCH) for sustainability. Whilst the role is primarily focused on WLT, the holder will work closely with CLCH’s Senior Sustainability Manager and deliver cross‑cutting projects across both organisations.
Key Responsibilities
The post holder will lead and provide expert knowledge on all aspects of environmental sustainability, ensuring sustainable development is integrated into our core business.

Close working relationships will be required with staff of all levels, including Executive Directors, leads and experts within other organisations.

Excellent project management, communication and people skills are essential.

Essential
Qualifications
* Qualified to a Master’s degree level in environmental management, geography or a related degree, or has equivalent relevant experience with additional training and/or qualification.
Desirable
* IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management or equivalent.
* Prince (or Prince2) project management certificate or equivalent.
Essential Experience
* Evidence of successful management of a green sustainability programme in a large complex organisation.
* Experience leading and working across multiple organisations to deliver a joint programme.
* Proven track record of delivering outcomes through leading, influencing, motivating, managing and empowering multidisciplinary teams and across professional boundaries.
* Experience of effective planning, project management processes and progress reporting.
* Experience in developing partnership working with third‑party organisations to mutual benefit.
* Experience delivering successful environmental behaviour change marketing exercises.
* Experience of carbon footprint reporting.
* Evidence of effective people management and staff development.
Desirable Experience
* Experience working in the NHS or healthcare sector.
