Excel Modeller – Remote (UK)
Full-time
£30,000–£40,000 depending on experience
Overview
We're looking for a detail-focused Excel Modeller to take ownership of building structured, logic-driven workbooks that act as calculation engines behind a growing SaaS platform.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys designing complex formula flows, structuring Excel workbooks for long-term use, and translating business rules into reliable, reusable tools - all without relying on macros or VBA.
You'll work independently on the full lifecycle of each workbook from shaping requirements and building formulas, through to documentation, testing and optimisation.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Designing advanced Excel workbooks from scratch to model complex business rules
* Writing and optimising formula-based logic (nested IFs, arrays, lookups, etc.)
* Structuring models for clarity, maintainability, and performance
* Collaborating with product and technical teams to refine requirements
* Documenting logic flows and workbook structures for handover and audit
* Creating reusable templates and applying consistent design standards
* Supporting and iterating on existing models over time
What We’re Looking For
* Deep expertise in Excel: advanced formulas, arrays, data validation
* Experience building structured workbooks (clear input → logic → output)
* Strong logical reasoning and attention to detail
* Ability to independently manage workload and deadlines
* Clear documentation and communication skills
* Bonus: experience building tools for others to use or turning business rules into models
* Nice to have: familiarity with modelling, decision trees, or rules engines
* No VBA or coding required — this is all about clean, powerful formula-based logic
Who This Suits
You might have worked as a Financial Modeller, Pricing Analyst, Reporting Specialist, or Excel Consultant. Or you may simply be someone who has always taken Excel further than most — building logic-driven tools and structured models that others rely on.
If you take pride in crafting smart, maintainable workbooks and want to contribute to a real product behind the scenes, we’d love to hear from you.
Remote within the UK.
