Are you a Psychology or Criminology graduate? Are you looking for a role where you can build your experience supporting neurodiverse children? A specialist school for children with Autism and complex needs is seeking a Psychology Graduate to join their team of support staff as a Learning Support Assistant. You will work within the classroom, playing a key role in the social, emotional and academic development of every pupil.
You will support students with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autism, complex needs, speech, language and communication needs, mental health difficulties and behaviour challenges. You will experience various cognitive behaviours and utilise engagement methods, such as restorative practices promoted by therapists and psychologists, to support the pupils. The school emphasizes emotional well-being and social development, weaving these skills into every aspect of the curriculum.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Psychology or Criminology graduate keen to pursue a career in SEN Teaching, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Educational Psychology. You will gain safeguarding training and help support the school’s fully integrated therapy programme.
Requirements
* Graduate with a strong academic background (ideally a 2:2 degree or above).
* Interest in pursuing a career in SEN-related fields.
* Previous experience working with children and/or vulnerable adults would be beneficial.
Responsibilities

* Contribute to social, emotional and academic development of pupils.
* Engage with restorative practices and other strategies promoted by therapists and psychologists.
* Support the school’s integrated therapy programme and safeguarding training.
