Role Overview
Our client, a leading defence company, is looking for Configuration Engineers to join their team on a contract basis.
Senior Configuration Engineer Responsibilities
* Support the Configuration Manager and manage the Product definition and/or configuration of minor or major parts of a project.
* Reflect engineering input through the engineering change process into the design definition / structure, utilising the company PLM tool Windchill.
* Manage correct design definitions for multiple product variants, implementing engineering changes against appropriate instances.
* Review engineering changes for respective project to ensure business process is applied and approbation controls are adhered to, accepting or rejecting changes as appropriate.
* Provide draft Configuration Management document updates to the project Configuration Manager ahead of the appropriate review period.
* Prepare comprehensive and timely data for Configuration Meetings, delivering data to Configuration Manager and project team against agreed timescales.
* Control project design definitions across development, production and in‑service phases, providing status accounting information to customer.
* Work as a focal point of contact for day‑to‑day activities with project and engineering teams and establish relationships with key stakeholders.
* Support and guide project areas regarding engineering change methodologies appropriate to the product or equipment lifecycle, ensuring agreed, documented processes are in practice.
