Weston Park is a residential and nursing home located on the outskirts of Macclesfield Town situated in a quiet residential area. The home is accessible via a main bus route and easily accessible from the Leek and Congleton roads.
Weston Park provides a variety of care for 72 residents over two units. Mulberry unit provides nursing with dementia care and Weaver unit provides general nursing care. In addition, to the existing services we are reopening our 30 bedded service following refurbishment and therefore we require an Activity Assistant to join our existing team.

Responsibilities of an Activity Assistant
You will work as part of a busy team to deliver a varied activities programme to meet the needs of our residents:
* You will support and encourage residents to take part in a variety of group or individual activities that reflect their hobbies and interests and maintain their independence.
* You will have the ability to encourage and motivate residents on a one-to-one basis to have stimulation, social interaction, and a positive effect on their well-being.
* You will be responsible for record keeping, recording the impact of activities, and contributing to the residents’ social and recreational section of their care plan.
* You will get to know our residents, their interests, and life stories to deliver events that truly enrich their lives and ensure they feel connected with their community.
* Whilst motivating colleagues to support events in the home, you will also be responsible for actively promoting activities in the community and encouraging family and friends to become involved.
We are Looking for Someone Who Has:
* Knowledge of the impact of activities on residents with dementia and residents who have some reluctance to take part in social activity.
* A positive attitude and an understanding of the ethos of teamwork and the skills and contributions to offer the widest possible choice to our residents.
* Relevant training and experience in a similar role.
* An outgoing and creative personality. You must be comfortable developing relationships in the local community to promote the home.
