Industrial Painter – 2-Pack Systems
General Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking components to ensure proper adhesion.
2. Mix and handle 2-pack paint systems according to manufacturer specifications and COSHH guidelines.
3. Monitor environmental conditions and curing times to ensure optimal finish quality.
4. Conduct visual inspections and paint thickness testing to ensure compliance with quality standards.
5. Maintain painting tools and equipment to ensure consistent performance and workplace cleanliness.
6. Follow all Health & Safety procedures and safe handling practices for hazardous materials.
7. Assist other departments or production areas as needed.
8. Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Requirements
Essential:
9. NVQ / BTEC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
10. Demonstrated experience working with 2-pack paint systems (epoxy/polyurethane).
11. Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings and specifications.
12. Knowledge of surface preparation methods and finishing standards.
13. Understanding and proper use of PPE and hazardous materials safety protocols.
Desirable:
14. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
15. Basic computer literacy (for job logging, quality records, etc.).
