An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our busy Electoral Services Team as an Electoral Services Officer. The role supports the delivery of statutory elections and electoral registration, ensuring all processes are administered accurately and efficiently according to legislation.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the planning, organisation and delivery of local, parliamentary and other statutory elections and referenda.
* Support the maintenance of the Register of Electors, processing applications, amendments and reviews in line with electoral law.
* Provide professional advice and information to elected members, candidates, agents, polling staff and members of the public.
* Prepare and check electoral documentation, notices, polling station materials and count arrangements.
Qualifications
* Experience working in electoral services, democratic services or similar administrative environments.
* Good understanding of electoral processes and relevant legislation, or ability to quickly develop this knowledge.
* Highly organised, excellent attention to detail, and ability to manage competing deadlines.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Confidence dealing with a wide range of stakeholders.
* Experience using IT systems and databases, and ability to learn specialist electoral software.
* Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends during election periods.
