We are looking to recruit a Technical Manager who will lead the Quality & Technical agenda across all Boughey sites to protect product integrity and customer trust. Owning the quality management system (QMS), BRCGS Storage & Distribution compliance, and product safety/legal conformance for stored, handled and distributed goods. The successful candidate will drive ‘right first time' operations alongside rapid issue resolution and be committed to continuous improvement. Own BRCGS certification programme (scope, gap-analysis, action plans, evidence files Lead product safety/quality risk assessments including contamination, allergen cross-contact, foreign body, temperature abuse, security/food defence (TACCP)and vulnerability (VACCP) where in scope. Manage intake/triage, root-cause (5-Whys/ICAM), customer liaison, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and trend reporting. Own product incident, hold/quarantine, traceability and mock recall/withdrawal testing; ensure recalls meet customer/legal expectations and are rehearsed at least annually. Review customer and third-party service specifications (e.g., repack, relabel, value-add) and ensure operational controls exist before go -live via Management of Change ( MoC ). Set and verify standards for housekeeping, pest control interfaces, glass/rigid plastic, knife policies, allergen segregation, label/pack checks, temperature mapping/monitoring (where applicable). Design and deliver technical/GMP/allergen awareness training; coach managers and auditors; ensure competency records are current. Approve and monitor critical service providers (e.g., pest control, laundry, calibration, cold-chain monitoring); conduct or commission audits as needed Define quality KPIs, lead monthly reviews, present trends to Operations and customers; drive CI using PDCA/Lean basics. Host audits/visits, own responses, and manage timely closure of nonconformities; support Head of SHEQ with any regulatory contact. Line management responsibility of quality and technical coordinators and auditors. What will you bring?
