What You'll Do:
As a Research Associate, you will be at the forefront of our herbicide research projects, supporting the Primary Profile Screening (PPS) platform. Your responsibilities will include:
Spraying, maintaining, and assessing plants in the glasshouse to ensure the delivery of timely, high-quality biological data.
Conducting herbicide bioassays using both established and novel screening methods.
Maintaining plants under glasshouse conditions and disposing of plant materials post-testing.
Accurately assessing plants for herbicidal symptoms and activity, entering results into our relevant databases.
Collaborating with the PPS screening operations team, both independently and as a team player.
Keeping meticulous records and ensuring databases are up-to-date.
Identifying and reporting any issues or non-conformities that arise during your work.
Training others in daily tasks and actively contributing to team efficiency and improvement.
What We're Looking For:
To thrive in this role, you will need:
A bachelor's degree in a related field such as Biology or Environmental Science.
A general understanding of plant biology, preferably with insights into weed control and agronomy.
Entry-level knowledge of laboratory techniques and proficiency in Microsoft Office programmes.
Strong analytical, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Agility in learning new tasks and the ability to manage your time effectively.
