We are looking for a motivated individual passionate about improving care and sharing our health board values to join our team.

Bronglais General Hospital is a busy district general hospital offering a range of medical and surgical specialties.

You will join a team of experienced pharmacists and technicians and will be expected to undertake the role of responsible pharmacist, including Emergency Duty Commitment (on-call), and work weekends and Bank holidays as part of a rota.


Main duties of the job

You will undertake a rotational clinical pharmacist role, working closely with pharmacy colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team.

You will have opportunities to develop your practice in various clinical areas within a small and friendly acute trust.

You will be supported in ongoing studies through the clinical diploma and subsequent prescribing qualifications.

You will be responsible for acting as the responsible pharmacist in outpatient areas.

The post includes formal development opportunities through the structured HEIW Post-registration Foundation Training Programme or a distance learning clinical diploma, both providing a foundation for career growth and professional development. To qualify for the HEIW post-Foundation training, you must be qualifying in July 2025 or have registered with the GPhC after July 2024.

Qualifications and Knowledge


Essential criteria

* Masters degree in pharmacy (4 years or equivalent)
* Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council (registered pharmacist or pre-registration trainee, must be registered pharmacist at start date)
* English language qualification - GCSE grade C or above or IELTS score of 6.5 in writing and 6.0 in other components
* Knowledge of medicines management systems and processes in an NHS setting


Experience


Essential criteria

* Knowledge and experience in healthcare pharmacy


Desirable criteria

* Achievement in multiple areas of medicines management
* Hospital experience
* Experience in Technical Services
* Experience in teaching and supervising pre-registration pharmacists, technicians, and assistants
* Primary care experience


Welsh Language

* Welsh Speaker (level 1)
