Main duties of the job
Main duties of the job
* To perform highly skilled physiotherapeutic assessment of patients referred by Consultants, General Practitioners and other Healthcare Professionals with diverse presentations and complex and acute/chronic physical conditions and sports injuries. To use clinical reasoning skills to provide an accurate clinical diagnosis.
* To formulate, develop and deliver a specialised individualised treatment programme based upon evidence-based practice, manual assessment and appropriate clinical reasoning.
The provision of clinical reports to supply clinical prognoses and comprehensive discharge planning for other medical professionals and, where appropriate the military Chain of Command (CoC).
To communicate effectively with patients to ensure informed consent for assessment and treatment, good understanding of their conditions and maximise their rehabilitation potential. Patients may have barriers to communication e.g. English as their second language.

Job responsibilities
Job Purpose
To ensure the provision of a comprehensive and professionalphysiotherapy/rehabilitation service for entitled personnel. This includesundertaking highly skilled and specialist work in the musculo-skeletal (MSK)/sports and training injury areas.
Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
To have professional and legalaccountability to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and HealthProfessions Council (HPC), adhering to all directed standards and codes ofpractice.
To development and maintenance of your ownpersonal, Service and Professional Standards at the highest attainable levelsthrough continuing professional development activities and maintenance of aportfolio.
Adhere to Regional Healthcare Governancepolicy, ensuring that all service delivery conforms to the standards set.
To have effective communication with allother rehabilitation and Unit personnel and with external medical personnelfrom other agencies/units.
To assist in identifying training needs and organising in-servicetraining for the unit medical facility.

Experience
* Must have consolidated experience working as a post graduate Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist.
* Must have relevant experience in the assessment and treatment of musculo-skeletal disorders, sports injuries and orthopaedic conditions.
* Completed relevant courses and experience that would be equivalent to graduate diploma level of study.
* Experience in the management of MSK disorders at Band 6 level
* Experience in a broad range of physiotherapy services e.g. NHS rotations
