We’re looking for a talented and motivated Data Engineer to join our Business Intelligence & Information Services team, helping shape the future of data-driven decision‑making across the Trust. In this role, you will take ownership of developing, maintaining and enhancing our local data warehouse and reporting solutions. Your work will ensure that staff across the organisation have access to timely, accurate and relevant information to support the planning and delivery of outstanding healthcare. What you’ll be doing: Developing and improving the Trust’s data warehouse, reporting environment, and ETL processes Managing routine and bespoke data extractions from clinical and operational IT systems Leading on the Trust’s reporting strategy, including exploring modern web‑based reporting tools and data collection solutions Ensuring high‑quality, reliable datasets that support operational performance, clinical services and statutory reporting Working closely with colleagues in the BI & Information Services Development Team, as well as Divisional Managers, senior leaders and clinicians Collaborating with partners across the wider health system, including local ICBs/CCGs This role offers significant scope for autonomy and innovation—you’ll be the specialist driving improvements in how the Trust uses data, with opportunities to shape new approaches and introduce new technologies. Advert Develop and maintain the Trust’s local data warehouse and reporting systems, working collaboratively with the Information Services Development team. This includes designing and maintaining data structures, managing data from PAS and other sources, and ensuring robust extraction, storage, and backup processes. Keep documentation accurate and up to date, including warehouse design specifications and reporting requirements, in line with Information Services quality standards. Provide specialist training and support to users of the performance reporting application, offering guidance on best practice, policies, and procedures. Ensure timely, relevant and accurate information is available to support effective decision‑making across the Trust and with external partners. Create and monitor data quality reports to highlight process issues, escalating concerns to operational managers so that corrective actions can be taken. Monitor Dataset Change Notices (DSCNs), advising on their impact and implementing required changes to maintain compliance within the warehouse and reporting outputs. Work proactively with teams across the Trust to identify reporting requirements and system enhancements, supporting the successful implementation of changes in reporting definitions or processes. Collaborate with IT Development and Information colleagues to improve data quality, raising awareness and embedding best practices across the organisation.
