Group Business Development Manager
Justice, Health & Complex Care
Up to £60,000 per annum + £6k bonus KPI related
Remote with Travel (Midlands, Sussex and London Areas)
Overview
We’re working with a growing organisation in the health, complex care, and justice space looking to hire an experienced Business Development Manager to drive new business and expand key partnerships across the UK.
This is a high-impact role focused on winning new business, opening new markets, and building strong commissioner relationships with a critical emphasis on off-framework opportunities and spot purchasing.
The organisation has a sterling reputation in the sector, with Good CQCs throughout. They are private and investor backed however, mostly values driven with emphasis on ethical practices, authenticity and more importantly targeting business and sales aligned to their ethos.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Group Business Development Director and working closely with the COO, you will take ownership of developing and converting a strong pipeline, working closely with commissioners, ICBs, and placement teams to secure new opportunities.
Success in this role will come from your ability to:
* Generate and win off-framework business
* Convert spot purchase placements into long term partnerships
* Build trusted relationships with key decision-makers
* Identify and act on live demand across complex care and specialist services (such as Mental Health, Learning Disabilities not a pre-requisite but genuine interest with the sector is)
Key Responsibilities
* Drive new business across health, social care, and justice markets
* Develop and manage a high-quality sales pipeline
* Build relationships with commissioners, brokers, and local authority teams
* Lead the full sales cycle from opportunity to close
* Collaborate with operational and clinical teams to deliver viable, high-quality solutions
* Contribute to market strategy, pricing, and service development
What We’re Looking For
* Proven track record in Business Development within health, social care, or complex care setting
* Essential: Strong experience winning business through off framework routes and spot purchasing
* Deep understanding of commissioning and placement processes
* Commercially astute with strong negotiation and influencing skills
* Confident engaging senior stakeholders and decision-makers
* Existing relationships within ICBs, Local Authority etc
* Driven, proactive and relationship-focused
What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)
* Strong pipeline of qualified opportunities
* Growth driven through spot placements and off-framework wins
* New commissioner relationships established
* Consistent delivery against group revenue targets
