Job description
The Role:
1. Provide one-to-one or small group tuition at GCSE level (subjects may include English, Maths, and Science)
2. Support students who may have SEND, SEMH needs, or are disengaged from mainstream education
3. Deliver tailored, engaging lessons adapted to each learner’s needs and abilities
4. Build positive, trusting relationships to encourage confidence and progress
5. Work in a variety of settings, including schools, alternative provisions, or students’ homes
The Ideal Candidate:
6. Experience tutoring or teaching GCSE-level students
7. A patient, empathetic approach with the ability to engage vulnerable learners
8. Strong subject knowledge in at least one core GCSE subject
9. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
10. Experience working with SEN, SEMH, or looked-after children is highly desirable
