Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Manchester
Role
We are recruiting for Quantity Surveyor to join our team in the North, the first scheme will be based in the centre of Manchester on a large build scheme. Working within & assisting the commercial & construction team to ensure a successful project is delivered, while maintaining relationships, to maximise commercial returns & manage risk.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the commercial team
2. Carry out the following under supervision:Prepare tenders – measure, put into packages, analysePrepare variations/valuationsPrepare Final AccountsPrepare s/c valuations Attend site client meetingsPrepare client quotations/Estimates
3. Liaise with site management
4. Take responsibility for:Maintaining site records, control documentsMeasuring progress on site
5. Consider Risk & opportunity
6. CVRAssist as required for larger value works Produce for small value projects and report to SQS/MQS
7. Cash managementTimely application/invoices inline with client schedule
8. Understand & assist in the implementation of the commercial strategy
9. At all times act in a suitable & professional manner
10. Involved with & take some responsibility on traditional contracts
11. Involvement but no responsibility for:Negotiation with subcontractorsInterpretation of contract law
Experience & Skills
12. Ability to effectively utilise a range of Microsoft Office tools
13. Able to manipulate, manage/interrogate data
14. Be fully conversant with the use of the Standard Method of Measurement
15. Demonstrate potential for clear written & oral communications
16. Demonstrate ownership/commercial awareness
17. Effective time management, organisational, interpersonal and negotiation skills
Required Qualifications/Training
18. Completed or currently undertaking a qualification in Quantity Surveying (HND/HNC Upwards)
19. Preferable to be studying towards Chartership
