Highways Site Supervisor As a Contracts and Procurement Site Supervisor, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the successful delivery of infrastructure projects for Hertfordshire County Council. You'll be the eyes and ears on the ground-monitoring contractor performance, inspecting works, and safeguarding quality and safety standards. Your work will directly influence the success of highways and infrastructure services across the county. As a Site Supervisor you will: * Conduct site inspections and audits, ensuring works meet contractual and technical standards. * Monitor health and safety compliance and report near misses. * Review traffic management and ensure safe, signed routes. * Maintain detailed site diaries and photographic records. * Measure quantities and verify specifications, materials, and workmanship. * Liaise with contractors, stakeholders, and the public to resolve issues and maintain collaborative relationships. * Support contract management processes including Early Warnings, Defect Certificates, and payment reviews. * Represent the client's interests with professionalism and integrity. * Spend most of your time on-site across Hertfordshire, driving safely between locations. * Practical experience in Highways and other infrastructure sectors (roads, rail, water, or buildings). * A full UK Category B/B1 driving licence with a safe driving record. * Proven track record as an NEC Site Supervisor or equivalent on complex projects. * Strong understanding of Health and Safety standards. * Ability to produce high-quality records and reports. * Independent, able to work with limited supervision and on own initiative. * Clear and confident communicator-both written and verbal. * Methodical, detail-oriented, and able to work independently. * Proficient in MS Word, MS Teams, and other digital tools. * A collaborative mindset and commitment to Jacobs' values of fairness, respect, and dignity.
