NEL CRDC Finance and Costing Officer - Band 6
We are seeking a motivated and highly organised Finance and Costing Officer to join our dynamic Research Finance Team. In this role, you will provide costing and financial support to help drive the growth of our commercial research portfolio across Barts Health and the North East London Commercial Research Delivery Centre (NEL CRDC). You will play key role in in financial oversight and costings of commercial trials, ensuring high-quality finance management and smooth day-to-day
operations across the three partner organisations collaborating in this flagship projects.
You will have excellent organisational and administrative skills, with proven experience of working collaboratively with a range of professionals. You will be proficient in the use of Microsoft 365
packages, including the use of Excel for data manipulation and analysis. You will have a strong experience of commercial costings, NCVR process and able to produce clear, insightful reports. Strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to build positive working relationships
across diverse teams and organisations, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential for this role.
Main duties of the job
In this role, you will be monitoring and maintaining the NEL CRDC budgets including overall income and expenditure, contractual activities. You will maintain accurate departmental trackers, manage invoicing, analyse data to prepare high-quality reports, and keep precise departmental records.
You will liaise effectively with senior managers, clinicians, external partners, and other stakeholders, assisting in the efficient financial management of commercial activities delivered under the umbrella
of NEL CRDC.

1. Extensive Financial Management experience
2. Presenting financial information to non -financial managers
3. Costing and financial management commercial research including budget and contract negotiation
4. Excellent experience of grant and commercial research financial administration
5. Ability to provide expert advi c e to Clinicians and Academics on all aspects of post -award grant finance administration
6. Ability to suggest and/or implement operational changes

8. Educated to degree level or equivalent in a financial or related subject

11. Excellent IT skills with the ability to accurately create input and manipulate data plus develop reports and documents, using a range of software
12. NCVR principles and commercial research finances in NHS
