About the Role
To develop Personal Development opportunities relating to health, sport and fitness for all students at HSDC to ensure the College’s provision is Ofsted rated Outstanding. To increase and record participation in ‘Be Active’ extra curricular sport, exercise and fitness activities and clubs for 16-19 year old students at HSDC and support student-led initiatives such as the Sports Council.
To oversee the safe and effective use of our Fitness Suite. To deliver inductions, design and monitor training programmes, and ensure equipment and facilities are well-maintained.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
* Build and develop the Be Active and Be Adventurous programmes within the College’s Be Extraordinary programme, as directed by AP Academic Curriculum & Enrichment.
* To act as the main link person, in the context of FE, within the College and local sporting infrastructure, through County Sports Partnerships, NGBs and Community Sports Networks and signpost more young people into participation in sport in the community.
* Develop, promote, organise and supervise sport and physical exercise clubs and societies on the Alton campus.
* To ensure the safe use of the Fitness Suite by users.
* Monitor technical resources and activities.
* Deliver induction courses for use of the Fitness Suite.
* Actively promote the use of the Fitness Suite both within the College.
Requirements
You will need:
* A Vocational Qualification in Sport and Leisure and/or commercial training qualifications.
* NGB coaching qualification in more than one relevant sport.
* Relevant qualification at Level 3
* First Aid qualification
* Experience of designing training programmes
* Experience of maintaining equipment in a fitness room
* Experience of maintaining sports store areas
* Knowledge of the education environment
