Barry’s is the Best Workout in the WorldTM. Founded in West Hollywood in 1998, it’s the original strength and cardio interval fitness experience that provides an immersive, high-intensity, one-hour workout that’s as effective as it is fun. Our fitness classes alternate between working out with weights and running on a treadmill. Each day focuses on a different muscle group to achieve real results and prevent injuries. Our program is designed to tone muscle and maximize fat loss, while spiking the metabolism for up to 48 hours following the class.

Please be aware that smoking is prohibited in all indoor areas of Barry’s studios and corporate offices.

Overview

The role of the desker is client facing, focused on delivering the best part of our clients’ day. We are seeking someone with a passion for excellent service, high energy and a desire to build a community in a fast-paced environment. If you have experience in providing superior customer service, we want to hear from you.


Key Responsibilities

* Ensure the Barry’s vision is brought to life daily by embodying our values
* Provide a best-in-class welcome and farewell to every client
* Deliver exceptional service during class sign-in; work quickly and efficiently while upholding service standards
* Respond to client queries in person, by phone and email; reach solutions that meet business and client needs
* Have a full understanding of the POS system; process payments, update records and make or amend bookings including private classes
* Maintain high energy during class changeovers and keep a positive atmosphere
* Induct first-time clients thoroughly, including a personal welcome, studio tour, lockers demonstration and introduction to the fuel bar
* Operate the fuel bar, preparing pre- and post-class shakes with a can-do attitude
* Build client relations by remembering personal preferences
* Use the booking system to recognise milestones such as birthdays and achievements
* Identify opportunities for client outreach and community building during downtime
* Open and close the studio and perform necessary tasks
* Work with facilities to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the studio space, fuel bar, reception and changing areas
* Coordinate with the instructor team to ensure classes start/finish on time and assist with technical issues
* Handle complex client inquiries and deliver custom solutions; seek help from studio management when needed
* Maintain product knowledge for all studio retail operations, including fuel bar
* Understand marketing initiatives and help execute them effectively
* Communicate studio offerings, promotions and events to clients; assist with bookings or sign ups as needed
* Assist studio management with daily tasks and other projects as necessary


Requirements

* Ability to work non-traditional hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays
* Days of work are variable and determined by management in line with business needs
* Strong hospitality skills with knowledge of customer service principles
* Ability to establish and maintain constructive, cooperative relationships with clients, peers and supervisors
* Effective communication in a time-sensitive manner
* Excellent organization and time management skills
* Ability to follow instructions in a fast-paced environment
* Detail-oriented mindset focused on customer satisfaction and cleanliness
* Dependability and reliability
* Friendly, outgoing personality with a can-do, optimistic attitude
