Deputy manager

Offer description

Looking for your next step? Make it one that truly matters.

We’re looking for a Deputy Manager to join our MacIntyre team in Bedfordshire, supporting three welcoming homes where the focus is always on the individual. If you're passionate about person-centred support and want to be part of something that feels meaningful every single day, this could be the role for you.

At MacIntyre, we believe in celebrating people for who they are. Whether it’s supporting someone to travel independently, explore new hobbies, or feel confident in their own home, our work is rooted in relationships, respect, and possibility.

As a Deputy Manager, you'll help shape the homes, where people with learning disabilities and autistic people live lives that make sense to them lives that are gloriously ordinary.

What’s the role?

Working alongside the Service Manager, you’ll help lead and develop support across three homes. You’ll guide your team with care and clarity, making sure the support we provide is not only safe and consistent, but personal, empowering and filled with potential.

You’ll be:

* A visible presence across the homes, offering hands-on leadership and support

* Mentoring and coaching staff, helping them grow in confidence and skill

* Carrying out supervisions and appraisals, always with development in mind

* Building strong relationships with families, professionals and local partners

* Bringing MacIntyre’s “Everyone, Everywhere” vision to life by recognising and using the unique strengths, interests and passions within your team

* Part of the local on-call rota, collaborating with other managers across Bedfordshire

* Supported by an experienced admin team so you can stay focused on what matters most: people

This is a 37.5-hour role with flexible working across weekdays, occasional evenings and weekends, and participation in the on-call rota.

Who will you be supporting?
You’ll be part of the everyday lives of people like:

*David, who’s 25 and discovering the freedom of doing things for himself like travelling to college, growing vegetables in his garden, or managing his own money. With your support, David will continue to grow in confidence and independence, in ways that feel right for him.

Or *Alfie and *Joe, housemates who bring energy, humour and curiosity to each day. They’re passionate about karaoke, bowling, and exploring new places. Your team will help them build structure, try new things and feel proud of who they are becoming.

This is more than a job. It’s about walking alongside people, celebrating achievements both big and small, and helping shape lives that feel real, valued, and full of meaning.

If that’s the kind of leadership you believe in we’d love to hear from you.

"Please note, we are currently unable to offer sponsorships as we await further guidance from the Home Office. Applications requiring sponsorship cannot be considered at this time. We appreciate your understanding."

*Names changed for privacy
