Tasks This is a sited based role on multiple projects depending on size/complexity and will require the successful candidate to be based nationwide, dependent on where the projects/site are based. To lead the design team and specialist partners in providing safe, practical and economic designs. Ensure all deliverables are issued in accordance with the design programme and contractual commitments, to a high standard of professional competence and in compliance with company procedures. Manage the design process in accordance with the design programme and design management control documents (DMP, DIRM, IRS etc). Lead and contribute to design team meetings, including specialist sub-contractor workshops. Drive quality outcomes that enhance buildability. Promote excellent customer relationships and ambitious CDP partnerships. Sustain collaborative communications (verbal, written and formal) with internal and external stakeholders. Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned to our contractual commitments, compliance responsibilities and STRABAG guiding principles. Coordinate the design programme with commercial schedules and operational key milestones, ensuring monthly progress reporting (MPR) are aligned to common objectives. Key input to ensure co-ordination of the Operations / Commercial / Design triangle. Embrace STRABAG approach to safety “STOP! THINK! ACT! 1 2 3 Choose SAFETY” at all stages of design development and digital iteration. Manage the Common Data Environment (CDE) ensuring approvals are achieved on/ahead of programme. Oversee all digital design information / BIM activities in partnership with members of the project team. Manage the documentation review process developing collaborative working relationships with all partners. Where project requirements dictate, this will also include the management of MEP design information in conjunction with visiting MEP support. Coordinate the approval of samples and technical submittals.Ensure all design information is checked for compliance with Employers Requirements. Coordinate the design aspects of ‘change control’, liaising with all stakeholders regarding opportunities and potential risks. Manage third party consents, including but not limited to, planning permissions, building control and all other statutory legislation (including CDM). Manage and coordinate sustainability objectives including BREEAM and Net Zero Carbon. Drive the evidence gathering process, together with the project team, to ensure smooth conclusion of the certification process. Complete monthly reporting activities in accordance with contractual and company requirements, reporting diligently regarding project/company KPI’s. Coordinate negotiation activities and final agreement of consultant(s) scope of services. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company procedures with a high level of professionalism maintained throughout. Ensure O&M information is organised and reviewed for accuracy using the agreed workflow. Understand and implement archiving in accordance with the Employers Requirements. Qualifications Required: Degree or equivalent in Architecture, Construction Management, Civil Engineering. Construction Experience – minimum 3 years. Strong project management skills and confident when dealing with large teams, unresolved design issues and challenging programmes. Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 packages. Experience of managing project specific Common Data Environments (CDE’s), including the integration of digital information management/ BIM. Desirable Health & Safety training e.g., CITB SMSTS. Training regarding Health and Safety at Work Act, Construction Design and Management (CDM) and behavioural safety. Membership of CIOB, RIBA, ICE or similar equivalent.
