About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join a well-established and growing building services contractor delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical projects across commercial, residential, and industrial sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to play a key role in securing profitable work and supporting continued business growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical installations and associated works
2. Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to determine project requirements
3. Conduct site visits where necessary to assess project scope and constraints
4. Source and negotiate prices with suppliers and subcontractors
5. Produce detailed bills of quantities and cost breakdowns
6. Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify technical queries
7. Identify value engineering opportunities to ensure competitive tenders
8. Maintain and update a cost database for labour, materials, and subcontractors
9. Ensure all estimates comply with current regulations and industry standards
Requirements
10. Proven experience working as an Electrical Estimator within the building services or construction industry
11. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and relevant UK regulations
12. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
13. Experience using estimating software and Microsoft Office applications
14. Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
15. Strong communication and negotiation abilities
16. Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet strict deadlines
Desirable
17. Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or similar)
18. Experience working on commercial or large-scale residential projects
19. Understanding of mechanical services integration
