Role Overview.

This role is responsible for ensuring company-wide compliance with regulatory and environmental

requirements while driving sustainability initiatives and managing quality systems. Additionally, the role includes developing applications to optimise business intelligence, reporting, and process efficiency across both sites. This role oversees compliance programs, manages quality systems, and develops strategies to enhance environmental responsibility in line with corporate objectives.

Responsibilities.

Compliance Management


• Ensure adherence to all relevant local, national, and international regulations.


• Maintain, update and improve the company's quality management and compliance systems.


• Lead internal and external audits, ensuring successful outcomes with minimal non-conformities (NCRs).


• Oversee environmental permitting, emissions monitoring, and regulatory reporting.


• Maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and external auditors.


• Ensure cross site integration of existing systems where applicable.

Sustainability Leadership


• Develop and implement the company's sustainability strategy to minimize environmental impact.


• Drive initiatives to reduce waste, improve energy efficiency, and lower carbon emissions.


• Ensure compliance with sustainability frameworks, climate change agreements, and ESG reporting.


• Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate sustainable practices into business operations.


• Conduct training and awareness programs to foster a culture of sustainability.

Quality & Technical Oversight


• Oversee quality management systems, including auditing and calibration,


• Support technical teams with compliance-related training and best practices.


• Maintain up-to-date records on compliance and sustainability metrics for continuous improvement.


• Work with product development teams to ensure sustainable and compliant product innovation.

Applications Development & Process Optimization


• Develop and implement business-specific applications to enhance process efficiency and reporting.


• Support business intelligence initiatives by automating data collection and visualization.


• Collaborate with internal teams to identify and address digitalization opportunities.

Stakeholder Engagement


• Act as the primary point of contact for compliance and sustainability inquiries from customers, suppliers, and auditors.


• Provide training and guidance on compliance-related topics across all levels of the business.


• Partner with sales and marketing teams to communicate sustainability credentials to customers.


• Engage with external sustainability organizations, industry bodies, and government agencies

Measures of Success.


• Compliance with all relevant regulations, permits, and standards.


• Successful completion of internal and external audits with minimal NCRs.


• Achievement of key sustainability targets, such as reduced emissions and waste.


• Improved operational efficiency through sustainable initiatives.


• Positive stakeholder feedback on compliance and sustainability programs.


• Enhanced company reputation as a leader in environmental responsibility.


• App building to continually automate the current systems

Qualifications.


• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Compliance, or a related field.


• Experience with industry certifications such as FSC, PEFC, Oeko-Tex, and GOTS.

Skills & Experience.


• Proven experience in regulatory compliance, quality management, and sustainability.


• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, ISO standards, and ESG frameworks.


• Excellent project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
