Description
Lead and quality-check complex ER casework across the Trust
Manage and develop a team of ER professionals (currently 6, growing to 7)
Develop and implement an Employee Relations strategy with the Head of ER
Oversee ER KPIs, reporting systems, and cultural/EDI trend analysis
Act as escalation point for complex or sensitive ER issues
Design and deliver ER-related training to HR teams and managers
Collaborate with legal teams, trade unions, and governance bodies
Contribute to policy development and ensure legal compliance
Deputise for Head of ER on key projects and tribunal casesProfile
A successful 'Employee Relations Manager' should have:
CIPD Level 5 or 7 - essential
NHS or similar, wider public sector experience - essential
Proven experience managing complex, high-volume ER casework
Previous team leadership in a strategic ER environment
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, including unions and legal teams
Strong coaching, conflict resolution, and training delivery skills
Unflappable, firm but fair approach with excellent interpersonal skills
Strong analytical skills for interpreting ER data and trends
