Learning Support Assistant - Reception (ASD & ADHD)

Reeson Education is working closely with a supportive and inclusive mainstream primary school in Wandsworth that is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to support a Reception-aged pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD.
This is a full-time, long-term position, starting ASAP, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate. The role will involve providing 1:1 support and helping the child to engage positively with learning, routines and social interaction within the classroom.
The school is specifically looking for a Learning Support Assistant who has experience working with children affected by trauma, and who can apply a calm, patient and emotionally informed approach to behaviour and regulation.
The successful candidate will:
Have previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant in EYFS or primary settings
Have proven experience supporting pupils with ASD and ADHD
Demonstrate a strong understanding of trauma-informed practice
Be confident providing 1:1 support and adapting strategies to meet emotional and learning needs
Show excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with teachers and SEN staff
Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply)
Have up-to-date safeguarding training or be willing to complete this
