The Opportunity
We'll look to you to provide technical support for executing new product commercialization/scale-up projects (primarily solid dose) from Dechra PD (Product Development) and drive optimization projects for currently approved products from the site or from other internal sites or CMOs (Contract Manufacturing Organizations) using a product lifecycle approach. You'll troubleshoot current commercialized products, assist in new equipment selection, and manage significant process changes.
What will you be doing?
This role has a broad and varied remit. Responsibilities include:
1. Supporting the Technical Manager and representing the department on project teams.
2. Executing product commercialization projects for the site, including NPIs and post-approval changes, collaborating closely with Product Development, Production, and QA teams, preparing GMP documentation, scheduling, raw material acquisition, and supervising engineering batch manufacture.
3. Identifying potential process improvements for existing products, proposing formulation/process optimizations, and supporting their implementation.
4. Providing technical support across departments to solve problems as they occur.
5. Leading problem-solving and resolution efforts with proper documentation.
6. Assisting in evaluating new equipment and facilitating its transfer to production, including staff training.
7. Evaluating and qualifying alternative raw material sources.
8. Taking project leadership for technical activities during product commercialization, registration, optimization, validation, and launch, using a product lifecycle approach and statistical methods.
9. Assessing products/projects for development and commercialization for optimization or site transfer.
10. Implementing the product lifecycle program to ensure compliance with Dechra's standards and global regulatory expectations.
11. Proactively troubleshooting formulation and process issues to improve quality and supply continuity.
What do I need to bring to the table?
We value diversity and encourage candidates from all backgrounds. Ideally, candidates will have:
* A degree in life sciences, engineering, pharmaceutics, chemistry, or related fields.
* Relevant work experience with technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, understanding of process validation, and ability to coordinate multiple activities.
* The ability to make sound scientific recommendations.
* At least 4 years of industrial experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry, or equivalent education and experience, with knowledge of regulatory and industry guidance.
* Experience in designing, developing, and implementing technical transfer and product lifecycle strategies for various dosage forms.
Desirable skills/experience
* Hands-on knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and supervision of batch manufacturing.
* Experience with potent products and containment systems.
* Supervisory experience is beneficial.
* Understanding of dosage form development, process development techniques, cGMP, FDA, and EMA regulations, and current trends.
* Experience with solid dose formulation and scale-up.
Due to the nature of our business, successful candidates will need to complete a basic DBS check before employment, paid for by Dechra.
