Overview
A vacancy has occurred for a catering assistant who is motivated, interested and takes pride in ensuring that a high standard of food preparation and service is maintained. Duties will include the preparation of food, basic cooking, food service, kitchen hygiene and health and safety, ensuring compliance with the Food Safety Act, Health & Safety at Work Act and subsequent legislation. Experience in Catering is not essential as training on the job and compulsory off-job training will be provided. You will be initially based at one location but may be required to move location with appropriate notice as the service requires.
Responsibilities
* Prepare food and assist with basic cooking.
* Provide food service and customer-facing support.
* Maintain kitchen hygiene and ensure compliance with Food Safety Act, Health & Safety at Work Act and related legislation.
* Adhere to on-the-job and off-the-job training requirements.
* Be prepared to work at different locations as required by the service with appropriate notice.
Qualifications
* Experience in catering is not essential; training will be provided.
* Must be willing to become a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme for children; if shortlisted, you will be asked to complete the form and verification.
* Strong interpersonal and team-working skills; commitment to high standards of service.
