*

Foster a culture of academic curiosity, debate, and historical scholarship in and beyond the classroom.

*

Lead departmental initiatives such as enrichment programmes, educational visits, and guest lectures.

*

Collaborate with senior leadership on whole-school initiatives, including academic tracking and curriculum development.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

*

Hold a degree in History or a related subject and a recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent).

*

Have a proven track record of excellent teaching at GCSE and A-Level, with experience of departmental leadership or a clear readiness for this step.

*

*

Be passionate about nurturing historical inquiry and independent thought in students.

*

Show a strong commitment to professional development and the broader life of the school.

A vibrant, supportive school culture with high academic standards and a strong sense of community.

*

The opportunity to lead a respected department with motivated staff and engaged students.

*

Excellent resources, including access to historical archives, digital tools, and subject-specific CPD.

*

Competitive salary and benefits, with support for ongoing leadership development.
