Job Duties:
• Assist with the management of Projects and Design teams assigned to them in delivering a safe; proactive.
high quality and cost-effective project or service to both internal and external customers.
• To assist with Contract Administration of projects.
• To assist the Senior Capital Projects Officer to achieve the business plan targets and other relevant
objectives.
• To establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal services and external organisations to ensure the delivery of a responsive and professional service.
• To assist with the development and implementation of systems and processes to ensure the effective
management of project delivery in line with agreed objectives, timescales, costs and other KPI’s and SLA’s.
• To undertake regular reviews of all key projects within the post holder’s area of responsibility and proactively engage with clients and stakeholder groups to gather feedback and deliver service improvement initiatives.
• To assist with the development and implementation of continuous improvement within the team and commit to always delivering business excellence.
• To provide support and assistance to colleagues for the management of projects for which they are
responsible, including acting as temporary project manager during times of absence.
• To assist with the operational support to other areas of the Capital Project Management team.
• To attend when needed meetings outside normal working hours e.g., council committee meetings, schools governor meetings etc.
• Assist to ensure that the Council’s statutory duties and responsibilities are undertaken and Council policy is discharged in respect of service delivery
Secondary Duties
• To participate in Council programmes of in-service training as a trainee and when required as a trainer facilitator.
• To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as may be determined from time to time by the Service Head (or nominated representative) in consultation with the postholder (and if he/she so wishes, with his/her Trade Union representative).

Requirements
Essential:
• Able to work flexibly and on occasion out of hours with reasonable notice
• Minimum of 4 GCSE grades A-C / 9-4 or equivalent, including maths and English
• Ability to use Microsoft Office products (e.g Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
• Basic understanding of what a project is and how teams work together
• Good communicator and understand how to create good working relationships with others
• Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with a range of people. In team setting and or with external stakeholders
• Ability to be proactive, take ownership of work, doing what is needed within set deadlines

Desirable criteria:
• Having access to vehicle and or ability to drive
• Any prior work experience, work placement, internship, or part time role
• Previous study related to business, IT, construction, or management. And or have an interest in construction / property or related subjects e.g. project management, surveying or architecture.
